The terms of using GroupDial.
By using GroupDial, you agree to these terms. We’ve tried to keep them brief and human. If anything reads as legalese, write to us at groupdial.app@gmail.com and we’ll explain.
1. The service
GroupDial is a service for collecting short voice recordings from a group and delivering them as a single “card” to a recipient at a scheduled time. The recipient can listen, save a copy, and let the card expire. That’s the whole product.
2. Who can use it
You need to be at least 13 years old to use GroupDial. By using it, you represent that you are. If you’re using it on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
3. Your content
The recordings, names, greetings, and other content you submit (collectively, your content) belong to you. We don’t claim ownership.
You grant GroupDial a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, transmit, and play your content for the limited purpose of operating the service — i.e., delivering your card to the recipient you specified. We don’t use your content for advertising, model training, or anything else.
You confirm that you have the right to submit any content you upload, including consent from anyone whose voice or name appears in it. If you record someone else’s voice, you’re responsible for having their permission.
4. What you can't do
No GroupDial card may be used to:
- Harass, threaten, defame, or harm any person.
- Impersonate someone else.
- Submit illegal content — including content that infringes copyright, depicts minors in any sexual context, or violates applicable law.
- Send unsolicited bulk messages or use the service to spam anyone.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to compromise the infrastructure (rate-limit-evading scripts, attempts to access other users’ cards, etc.).
- Resell access to GroupDial or use it as a backend for a derivative service without our written agreement.
We can suspend or terminate any card or account that violates these rules, with or without notice.
5. Accounts
GroupDial currently issues anonymous accounts automatically. You don’t need to sign in with an email to create your first card. If we add email-based sign-in later, you’ll be responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.
6. Card lifecycle
Cards have a lifecycle described in the product:
- Draft / collecting — until the scheduled delivery time, or you delete it.
- Delivered — recipient receives the email; card is playable for 30 days.
- Expired — 30 days post-delivery, the card closes; audio is removed in a periodic cleanup shortly after.
Recipients can export their card as a ZIP keepsake before it expires. Senders can delete their card at any time. Once deleted or expired, recovery isn’t guaranteed.
7. Pricing and payment
GroupDial is free during the current iteration. If we add paid tiers in the future, we’ll surface them clearly and not retroactively gate cards you’ve already created.
8. Third-party services
GroupDial is built on services we don’t control (see the full list in our Privacy policy). If any of them go down, the service may degrade or be unavailable. We aim for reasonable uptime but make no formal SLA.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee that GroupDial will be uninterrupted, error- free, or fit for any particular purpose. Cards are best-effort keepsakes, not legal records.
Audio recordings are valuable. We strongly recommend recipients export important cards rather than relying solely on the live URL.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GroupDial isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of recordings, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total cumulative liability for any claim relating to GroupDial is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, if the service is free, is zero).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold GroupDial harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date and, where reasonable, a notice on the site. Continuing to use GroupDial after a change means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of GroupDial resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless local consumer-protection laws give you stronger rights.
14. Contact
For anything terms-related — questions, complaints, takedown requests — write to groupdial.app@gmail.com.
