Voices are private by default.

EFFECTIVE MAY 6, 2026

The short version

We collect the minimum needed to deliver your card: the names and voice recordings you give us, the email of the recipient, and a little bit of network metadata so we can fight abuse. We don’t sell anything, we don’t use voices to train AI models, and we don’t run third-party advertising trackers. Cards expire 30 days after delivery, and the audio comes down with them.

What we collect

When you create or contribute to a card:

  • Voice recordings. The audio each contributor records.
  • Names you type. The recipient’s name and each contributor’s name.
  • Recipient email. So we can send the card when it’s scheduled.
  • Greeting text. The short message the sender writes when composing the card.
  • An anonymous account ID. Created automatically so the cards you make stay tied to you. No email or password required.

We don’t use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. A small session cookie keeps you signed in between page loads; audio files may be cached locally by your browser.

How we use it

  • To play your card back to the recipient when they open it.
  • To email the recipient when delivery time arrives.
  • To keep the service running and protect it from abuse.

We don’t use your audio or text to train AI models — ours or anyone else’s. Voices belong to the people who recorded them.

Who we share it with

GroupDial relies on a small number of third-party processors to do the work the product depends on:

  • Hosting and serverless functions — runs the website and the API.
  • Database and authentication — stores card metadata, contributor names, recipient emails, anonymous user accounts.
  • Audio storage — stores voice recordings and intro narrations.
  • Bot protection — verifies you’re a real browser, not an automated script.
  • Email delivery — sends the card link to the recipient when delivery time arrives.
  • Text-to-speech — synthesises the operator narration that introduces the card.
  • Rate-limit storage — throttles abuse.

Each processor sees only what it needs. None of them are paid advertising networks, and we don’t share data with marketing partners. The current list of specific vendors is available on request — write to groupdial.app@gmail.com if you’d like it.

How long we keep it

  • Cards before delivery: until they’re delivered, or until you delete them.
  • Delivered cards: 30 days, then the card expires and the audio is removed shortly after.
  • Anonymous accounts: until inactive for an extended period, then removed.

Recipients can export a portable copy of the card before it expires using the Export this card link, so the voices can be kept after the original is gone.

Your rights

  • Delete a card. Senders can delete cards they created at any time, including after delivery.
  • Export a card. Recipients can download a ZIP copy of the card before it expires.
  • Erasure. If you want anything removed beyond what those tools cover — older logs, your anonymous user ID, whatever — write to us and we’ll do it.
